“The typicality of our terroir
and the character of the place are our guides”.
Genesis
Linked to the history and geography of Ségur-le-Château, the vineyard is located on the 80-hectare agro-ecological site of the Ségur farms. This family land, situated on the northern slopes of the Auvezère valley, overlooks the château and the medieval village. Since 2017, Mathieu and Astrid have been creating a landscape of agro-sylvo-pastoral landscape.

Our goal is to renew a bocage landscape: restore vitality to the soil, strengthen its fertility and rediscover green meadows with the help of dynamic rotational grazing of cattle and sheep. Thanks to this process of increasing environmental complexity and soil aggradation, we are seeing the return of diverse flora and fauna. The vine finds its place in this living setting.

It was on the heights of Le Mas, in the heart of an old 19th-century farmhouse, that I imagined the winery. Designed and built using noble materials that respect the heritage character of the buildings, I called on local craftsmen and winegrowers to create a production tool that is both beautiful and practical.
